Our Staff
The staff at Broadway Academy of Art & Dance is a dynamic team of talented, dedicated, and highly educated professionals who bring both artistry and expertise to every class. Many hold advanced training in multiple dance disciplines and performance arts, as well as years of teaching and stage experience. Their passion for dance is matched by a commitment to nurturing each student’s confidence, technique, and creative voice in a supportive environment. Together, they create an inspiring atmosphere where students of all ages can thrive both artistically and personally.

Shannon Levitt, Founder
Shannon Levitt is a veteran dance educator, choreographer, and studio owner with 45 years of dance experience and 32 years of studio experience training dancers of all levels and styles. She began her formal dance training in Omaha, Nebraska, and continued her studies with studios in the Chicagoland area. During college, Shannon trained with the University of Illinois Dance Department and the renowned Joel Hall Dance Center in Chicago. She was also a member of the nationally ranked University of Illinois Champaign and Chicago Dance Teams, earning a 2nd place finish in the College National Dance Team Championships during her time on the teams.
Shannon holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching and a Master of Arts in Teaching. Her academic background includes serving as an Adjunct Professor of Methods in Fine Arts at Aurora University. She has taught as guest faculty for Dance Masters of Wisconsin conventions and the National Association of Dance and Applied Artists Convention.
Her commitment to continued professional development has taken her to summer intensives in Los Angeles (2015) and New York City (2024-2025). In 2017–2018, Shannon was selected as one of just fifteen educators across Illinois to represent the arts and humanities through an arts education policy fellowship.
As a choreographer and technique coach, Shannon has worked with local, state, and national championship-level dance teams. She travels nationwide for conventions and workshops, and has produced and directed over twenty full-scale dance productions. Her choreography has been featured in professional concerts including Chicago Unite, Hope Through Dance, Esencia Dance Festival, the Lake Geneva Music and Dance Showcase and her own production work through her studio.
Shannon is also a respected adjudicator and currently serves as a dance competition judge for Legacy National Dance Competitions. Many of her students have gone on to major in dance at the collegiate level, perform on college dance teams, and build professional dance careers—including several students currently dancing professionally. Her dancers have been featured as halftime performers for the Milwaukee Bucks, selected as the Children’s Cast for the State Ballet of Ukraine, and have earned top placements at regional and national competitions as part of Broadway’s competitive teams.
Shannon is the founder of Broadway Academy of Art and Dance, where she continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of performers and dance educators. She is passionate about empowering young artists and is dedicated to sharing her lifelong love of dance with every student she teaches.

Olivia Levitt-Competition & Marketing Director
Olivia Levitt – Competition & Marketing Director, Broadway Babies/Broadway Minis Teacher
Olivia Levitt currently serves as both the Competition Director and Marketing Director at BAA Dance, while also teaching the studio’s youngest dancers. With over 11 years of experience in the dance community and a lifelong connection to her family’s company, Olivia brings passion, creativity, and leadership to her dual roles.
In addition to her work at the studio, Olivia is pursuing her degree at Carroll University, majoring in Health Care Administration with a minor in Educational Studies. She is on track to graduate in 2026 and earn her Bachelor of Arts degree. Her academic focus reflects her dedication to both leadership and education—values she brings into her work with dancers every day.
From a young age, Olivia was actively involved in dance classes and competitions, which shaped her deep appreciation for the discipline and joy of dance. Stepping into leadership within BAA Dance is a natural continuation of her journey, as she takes on greater responsibilities in the family business.
As Marketing Director, Olivia is the creative force behind the studio’s public presence, sharing its mission and milestones with the community. As Competition Director and instructor, she is passionate about guiding dancers to succeed both on and off the stage.
Olivia believes that dance is not just about mastering movement—it's about shaping individuals. She values perseverance, teamwork, discipline, and respect as essential life skills, and strives to help her students grow into confident, well-rounded people.
Above all, Olivia hopes her dancers will learn, grow, and most importantly—have fun.
Linda Pohlman
Linda Pohlman boasts a distinguished career as a professional dancer, having performed with renowned ballet and modern dance companies led by Diane Revie, Judith Svalander, and Pamela Bedford. Her extensive training under master teachers—including Diane Revie, Lou Conte, Randal Newsom, Hanya Holm, and the faculty at Denver Ballet—has shaped her refined technique and deep understanding of dance.
Academically accomplished, Linda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Rockford University and a Master’s in Teaching from North Central College. Alongside her dance career, she dedicated 35 years to teaching high school science, demonstrating her passion for education both inside and outside the studio.
For over 35 years, Linda has nurtured the next generation of dancers throughout Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs. As the former owner and director of Woodstock Dance Academy, she choreographed captivating full-length ballets performed at the historic Woodstock Opera House, including productions of Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, A Little Princess, and Hansel and Gretel. Renowned for her nurturing approach and unwavering passion for classical ballet technique, she has inspired many students to pursue professional dance careers and attend prestigious colleges.

Megan Laube
Megan Laube has been passionate about dance since she was five years old. Over the years, she has developed a versatile foundation by studying ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, and hip-hop. Megan’s dedication to dance was highlighted by her six years on the Life Dance Academy competition team, from seventh grade through high school graduation. During this time, she had the privilege of working with a variety of talented choreographers, including Morgan Williams, Melissa Lobes, and Christa Smutek, which helped shape her unique style and deep understanding of choreography.
In addition to her training, Megan has attended several prestigious dance conventions such as Dupree Dance and HEAT. At HEAT, she had the incredible opportunity to learn from SYTYCD All-Star Comfort Fedoke, further enriching her skills and artistic perspective.
While attending Craig High School, Megan was a committed member of the varsity poms squad for all four years. She choreographed numerous routines for the squad, with some of her most memorable works involving collaborations with the Craig Varsity Football Team during Homecoming celebrations. Her leadership and creativity on the squad made a lasting impact on the team and community.
Most recently, Megan has been actively involved with our competition teams, working closely with dancers across various ages and skill levels. She has taught and mentored students in all dance levels, from beginners to advanced, sharing her expertise and passion for dance with every class. Her ability to connect with dancers of all ages and abilities has made her an invaluable member of our teaching staff.
Megan is excited to continue growing as a dancer and educator as part of the BAA team, inspiring others to find joy and confidence through movement.


Bella Calaway
Bella Calaway is a Junior at Carroll University, where she is majoring in Nursing and minoring in Spanish. Originally from DePere, Wisconsin, Bella’s love for dance began at the age of two and blossomed throughout her years at Barb’s Centre for Dance in Green Bay.
Starting competitive dance at just six years old, Bella has trained in an array of styles including c
ontemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, ballet, pointe, and modern. She has competed at numerous prestigious events such as Hall of Fame, Showstoppers, Starpower, Rainbow, Applause Talent, Legacy, Showbiz, and League of Champions, earning multiple titles both individually and with her team.
Beyond her own dance achievements, Bella is deeply passionate about nurturing students and helping them develop a genuine love for dance. She has also expanded her skills by attending renowned conventions like Jump Chicago and participating in master classes led by esteemed choreographers from across the state, continuously dedicating herself to growth as both a dancer and mentor.

Susan Gali
Susan Gali is an incredible arts educator and passionate music teacher at both BAA Dance and Reek School in Lake Geneva, where she inspires students from 4K through 8th grade in both music and choir. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Butler University and is currently working toward a Master’s in Music Education from Anderson University.
Susan has an impressive background in directing and coaching performing arts. She has coached Reek School’s competitive musical theater team, leading them to multiple successful seasons. As the director and choreographer of the school’s show choir, she has helped the group compete at prestigious events, including Great America, where her students have shined on a big stage. In addition to her work with the choir, Susan has directed several beloved school musicals such as Willy Wonka, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo, bringing creativity and energy to every production.
Beyond the classroom and stage, Susan dedicates time to teaching private piano and clarinet lessons, and she frequently accompanies local community churches and choirs, enriching the musical life of her community. Known for her nurturing and encouraging approach, Susan has a unique ability to help every child feel like a star the moment they step into her studio or onto the stage, fostering confidence and a lifelong love of the arts.

Emma Wade
Emma Wade is thrilled to bring her expertise in Acro/Tumbling to Broadway Academy of Art and Dance. With an impressive 19 years of experience in football and competitive cheer, along with 6 years of dedicated coaching, Emma is uniquely qualified to guide dancers of all skill levels in developing strong, safe, and dynamic acrobatic abilities. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Winona State University, where she also cheered competitively during her college years. Currently, Emma serves as the head cheerleading coach at Badger High School, where she continues to inspire and develop young athletes.
Emma’s journey in cheerleading began at Badger High School, where she not only competed but led her team to a state championship. Her passion for the sport and performing arts grew as she gained experience on and off the field. Over the years, she has cultivated a coaching style that emphasizes safety, proper technique, and fostering a positive and supportive environment for all athletes.
One of Emma’s favorite aspects of coaching is building meaningful relationships with her dancers and athletes. She believes that understanding each individual’s personality, goals, and challenges is essential to helping them thrive both inside and outside the studio. Emma takes pride in being a trusted mentor who athletes can rely on for guidance, encouragement, and support through both their successes and struggles.
At Broadway Academy of Art and Dance, Emma is excited to nurture dancers’ acro skills with a focus on safe progression and developmentally appropriate training. She aims to empower dancers to confidently incorporate acrobatics into their performances, enhancing their artistry and stage presence. Emma’s commitment to excellence and passion for dance make her a valuable asset to the academy, and she looks forward to watching her students grow and succeed.

Natalie Molidor
Natalie Molidor’s passion for dance began in early elementary school, where she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and pom. She competed with her studio throughout her early years before advancing to dance with Twisters Elite and Fire House Gym in middle school. In high school, Natalie was not only a dedicated member but also the captain of the Johnsburg Hawkettes Dance Team.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Carthage College in 2016, where she also performed with the Red Hots Dance Team. Natalie began her teaching career as a second-grade educator at Lotus Elementary School. In 2022, she completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and earned her principal endorsement from Aurora University.
After six years of classroom teaching, Natalie transitioned into an Instructional Coach role at Stanton Middle School, where she supports educators and students alike. Alongside her educational career, she has continued her love for dance by teaching classes at the Mundelein Park District and coaching the dance team at Johnsburg Jr. High. This past year, she was named Assistant Principal in the Antioch school district.
Now entering her 5th season with BAA Dance, Natalie has taught a wide range of levels and styles and will continue to choreograph and work with our dancers with special needs. She is thrilled to continue sharing her expertise and passion with the amazing staff, students, and families at BAA Dance.

Kirsten Kendall
Kirsten Kendall is a dedicated and experienced educator currently teaching 4th grade in Johnsburg, where she brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep commitment to her students’ growth and development. With a lifelong passion for the arts, Kirsten brings a unique blend of academic and artistic skills that enrich both her classroom and her community.
Before fully dedicating herself to teaching, Kirsten was deeply involved in the dance world. She taught all levels of dance at All That Dance, a well-respected studio in Crystal Lake, Illinois. There, she shared her love and expertise in various dance styles with students of all ages and abilities, helping them build confidence, discipline, and self-expression through movement.
Kirsten’s own dance journey began under the mentorship of Ms. Shannon. Notably, she was Ms. Shannon’s very first graduating senior dance student—an experience that marked a meaningful milestone in both their lives and helped shape Kirsten’s teaching philosophy. She continued to pursue her passion for dance in college, where she became a proud member of the Illinois State University Redline Dance Team. As part of Redline, Kirsten performed at collegiate athletic events and represented the university with spirit and professionalism, further honing her technique, performance skills, and commitment to teamwork.
Now, Kirsten is excited to bring her combined love of education and the arts to her current work. She is especially thrilled to once again collaborate with Ms. Shannon—now at Broadway—where they work side by side to inspire and nurture young dancers. Kirsten believes strongly in the power of dance and all forms of artistic expression to empower students, foster creativity, and build lifelong skills.
Beyond the classroom and dance studio, Kirsten is passionate about inspiring the next generation, encouraging her students to explore their talents and embrace the joy of learning. Through her teaching and mentorship, she strives to cultivate a supportive and dynamic environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and motivated to succeed.

Reagan Seewald
Reagan Seewald is a dedicated and passionate Junior at Burlington High School who has been immersed in the world of dance since she was very young. Her journey began at BAA Dance, where her talent, strong work ethic, and natural leadership quickly stood out. Reagan started as an apprentice, learning from experienced instructors and absorbing every opportunity to grow. Her commitment and enthusiasm soon earned her a position as an assistant, and she now holds a teaching role—guiding and mentoring younger dancers with the same passion that first drew her to the studio.
In addition to her work at BAA, Reagan is an active and accomplished member of her high school’s dance team, as well as a valued performer on our elite dance teams. She consistently brings professionalism, creativity, and positivity to every rehearsal and performance. Her dedication to the art form is evident in the way she approaches each class she teaches—carefully planning lessons that are not only technically sound but also fun, inclusive, and inspiring.
Reagan’s ability to connect with students and create an engaging learning environment sets her apart as a young instructor. Whether leading warm-ups, choreographing routines, or encouraging dancers to push themselves, she approaches every aspect of teaching with maturity and joy. She is deeply committed to helping students develop both their skills and their confidence.
Looking ahead, Reagan plans to pursue a career in education, and her work in the dance studio is already laying a strong foundation for her future. Her passion for teaching, combined with her love for dance and the arts, makes her an incredible asset to our team. We are so fortunate to have Reagan sharing her talent, energy, and enthusiasm with our students, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in the years to come.

Jackie Janke
Jackie Janke is thrilled to be making her return to Broadway Academy of Art and Dance this year, where she will be choreographing and teaching 8 weeks of advanced hip hop classes. Bringing over 20 years of personal dance experience and more than a decade of coaching expertise, Jackie has developed a deep passion for hip hop culture and dance. Her teaching focuses on providing dancers with challenging choreography that not only hones their technical skills but also captures the authentic style and spirit of hip hop.
In addition to her dance career, Jackie has spent 12 years as a dedicated high school English teacher. This background in education allows her to connect with her students on multiple levels—helping them grow not only as dancers but also as confident, disciplined individuals. Jackie believes that dance is a powerful form of self-expression and personal growth, and she strives to create a supportive environment where every dancer feels inspired to push their limits.
Jackie’s own journey was profoundly shaped by the encouragement and mentorship she received from Ms. Shannon, the owner of Broadway Academy of Art and Dance. Just as Ms. Shannon helped nurture her talent and confidence as a young dancer, Jackie is passionate about giving back to the dance community by helping others discover their own love for movement and performance.
Whether working with beginner or advanced dancers, Jackie’s goal remains the same: to build strong technical foundations, foster creativity, and most importantly, boost each dancer’s confidence both on and off the stage. She is excited to bring her energy, expertise, and enthusiasm back to BAA Dance and looks forward to helping this year’s dancers reach new heights.

David Ingram
David Ingram is a Chicago-based dancer and choreographer known for his powerful fusion of hip-hop, krump, and contemporary dance. Raised on the city’s South Side, David began his dance journey as a self-taught hip-hop freestyler and battle dancer, developing a raw and energetic style rooted in street culture. He later deepened his training at Columbia College Chicago, where he studied ballet, modern, jazz, African, and contemporary dance under respected instructors including Emily Stein, Malik Camara, and Jeff Hancock.
David’s career spans work with notable hip-hop crews such as Urban Dance Force (UDF), Pure Renditionz, and T13. In 2008, he joined the innovative Chicago Dance Crash, quickly rising from the second company to a featured main company performer by 2012. There, he became known for his explosive performance style and ability to blend street and concert dance in choreography by Jessica Deahr, Mikey Rioux, Nick Pupillo, and others.
After retiring from Chicago Dance Crash in 2018, David shifted his focus to choreography, teaching, and freelance performance. He has created original works for stage and screen, including multimedia projects with Royal Caribbean (via C5) and dance films for Willow Creek Community Church. His martial arts training in ninjitsu informs much of his movement vocabulary, adding a unique physicality to his performances.
Today, David Ingram continues to shape the next generation of dancers through masterclasses and choreography that challenge, inspire, and celebrate the power of urban-contemporary fusion. We are excited to bring David to Broadway Academy of Art and Dance as a 6 week artist in residence teaching our advanced hip-hop classes.
